President George W. Bush appointed Shannon M. Russell as Director, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs for the Maritime Administration. Ms. Russell has served as a political and legislative consultant for various corporations and trade associations and as consultant to the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. Previously she was Senior Washington Representative for Ashland, Inc., where she had risen through the ranks over the course of her 20-year career.
A native of Kentucky, Ms. Russell received her Bachelors Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed the Executive Development Program at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
