Tourism Industries (TI) announces the release of their most popular
report - "The Abstract of International Travel To and From the United
States" for 1996. It has all new 1996 data and new tables reporting the
latest statistics on international travel to and from the United States.
The "Abstract" is a compilation of 14 summary tables which highlight
international travel to and from the United States in 1996. These tables
summarize the U.S. international inbound and outbound tourism statistics
(e.g. arrivals, departures, receipts, payments) in tabular format. Also
included are: overseas visitation estimates for the states and cities,
countries generating travel to the U.S., destinations visited by U.S.
residents, historical visitation to and from the U.S., profiles of inbound
and outbound travelers featuring a variety of traveler characteristics.
Each of the 14 summary tables that make up the "Abstract" can be
viewed, printed, downloaded and ordered from Tourism Industries web site
free of charge!
To view, print or download a copy of the report visit TI's web site
at http://tinet.ita.doc.gov. 100% of the "Abstract" is viewable on-line!
You can order a printed copy of this report by visiting TI's web site and
on-line shopping basket program.
**New Report Policy** Tourism Industries has also adopted a new policy to
report country, state and city data that meet a new statistical standard.
Tourism Industries will only publish visitation estimates for countries,
states, and cities that have a statistically respondent base. This new
policy means that some states and cities will not have visitation
estimates published, which may have been published in previous years. For
further information on TI's new reporting policy and what states and
cities are effected please contact TI.
