Make sure your destination/business is capturing this significant market -
Be a part of the U.S. Pavilion at BIT, Italy's most important tourism
trade show
As the sixth largest overseas market to the U.S., the Italian market is
expected to maintain its high performance into the next millennium. With
over 610,000 visitors last year, Italians are currently exceeding this
record-setting 1998 mark by 2% in 1999. The U.S. Department of Commerce
expects the Italian travel market to reach 700,000 visitors by 2003,
maintaining its sixth-place ranking in the overseas market.
For the third consecutive year, the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S.
Consulate in Milan is organizing a U.S. Pavilion at BIT (Borsa
Internazionale del Turismo / International Tourism Exchange). BIT is
considered the most important tourism trade show in Italy and one of the
most important tourism shows in Europe.
Of the over 100,000 participants, 36,000 are from the trade and almost
2,000 are journalists coming from all over Italy and Europe. The 63,000
general visitors come from one of the wealthiest areas of Italy, Lombardy,
where the population has a very high propensity for travelling abroad.
The Commercial Service will offer to the participants at the U.S. Pavilion
at BIT a full schedule of appointments with Italian tour operators,
journalists and travel agencies reception at the U.S. Consul General in
Milan residence.
DEADLINE FOR RESERVING A BOOTH IS DECEMBER 17.
DEADLINE FOR THE CATALOG DISTRIBUTION IS JANUARY 15
