Jamie P. Estrada

Deputy Assistant Secretary for
Manufacturing

Jamie P. Estrada is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing. He works with U.S. and foreign government and industry leaders on international trade policy issues affecting the manufacturing and technology sectors, including opening new overseas markets, expanding opportunities in existing markets and addressing tariff and non-tariff barriers. He previously served in the Department of Commerce as Director of the Office of Technology and Electronic Commerce.

Before his appointment by President Bush to the Commerce Department, Mr. Estrada worked for Intel Corporation where he began his finance career in the company’s Technology and Manufacturing Group, including several operational, strategic and management positions at Intel’s Rio Rancho, NM manufacturing site. Mr. Estrada transitioned to the company’s government affairs office in Washington, DC where he consulted on policies impacting U.S. competitiveness in manufacturing, R&D funding and tort reform.

Mr. Estrada was the northern New Mexico political director for Bush-Cheney ’04 and worked on the 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Mr. Estrada is originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico. He received his M.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and his B.A. in Economics and B.B.A. in Finance from New Mexico State University. While in college, he interned in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. Senator Pete Domenici.
