Interested in the Irish Travel Market? Participate in Holiday
World 2005!
Ireland was the 15th largest overseas travel market to the United
States in 2003, recording over 250,000 visitors. Through August
of 2004, Irish travel to the U.S. has climbed over 37 percent. In
2003, Ireland outperformed two-thirds of the top 20 overseas markets
to the U.S. A total of 1.07 million Irish residents took over 4.9
million visits overseas in 2003, an increase of almost 10 percent
over 2002.
According to the Office of Travel & Tourism Industry’s
newest international travel forecast, the Irish market to the U.S.
will grow steadily through 2007, surpassing the 325,000 visitor
mark. From 2005 until 2007, arrivals from Ireland will grow 6 to
7 percent each year.
Participate in Holiday World 2005
The U.S. Commercial Service invites you to participate in Ireland's
premier travel and tourism trade show. The Holiday World 2005 U.S.
Catalog Exhibit is a great way for you to promote your destination
to the Irish market. This year’s Holiday World takes place
in Dublin from January 27 – 30, and attracts over 50,000 consumers
and over 3,500 trade executives. This year, your destination will
also be represented at Holiday World’s second stop in Cork,
a three-day show for both travel trade and consumers. Cost of participation
is $300.
The U.S. Catalog Exhibit within Holiday World is sponsored by the
U.S. Commercial Service and the Visit USA Committee of Ireland.
Your literature will be displayed in a booth staffed by a dedicated
representative from the U.S. Commercial Service. Your information
will also be provided to travel media. After the show, the Commercial
Service will pass leads directly to you for follow-up.
