Italian Travel Market the U.S. to Approach Half-Million by 2007!

Make sure your destination/business is capturing this significant market
- be a part of the U.S. Pavilion at BIT 2004, Italy's most important tourism
trade show.
As the seventh largest overseas market to the U.S., the Italian market
is forecasted to show strong growth in the coming years. According to
the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries forecast, the Italian market
is expected to show annual growth of 5, 8 and 7 percent in the next three
years.
The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Consulate in Milan is organizing
a U.S. Pavilion at BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo), which will
take place in Milan from February 14-17, 2004. BIT is considered the most
important tourism trade show in Italy and one of the most important tourism
shows in Europe.
Participation in the U.S. Pavilion at BIT is your opportunity to increase
your visibility and the flow of Italian tourists to your destination.
In 2003, over 87,000 trade representatives and journalists, and 41,000
general visitors attended BIT. The U.S. pavilion had 90 exhibitors, including
major destinations and tourism service suppliers. In total, BIT features
over 5000 companies.
For those who participate in the U.S. Pavilion, the U.S. Commercial Service
will provide-For Free-an updated electronic mailing list of major travel
agents, tour operators, incentive houses, journalists and other important
travel industry representatives. Over 1000 contacts in all are included.
