Department of Commerce Services to U.S. Exhibitors at ITB
The U.S. Commercial Service, the business facilitation agency of the
U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Visit USA Committee Germany, your
partner in the German market promoting travel & tourism to the United
States, are now working together to support your efforts to attract more
German visitors to the United States by providing a range of services
to you before, during and after ITB 2002.
BEFORE ITB
Your local U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC) is available for a free
business counseling session on the export promotion programs of the U.S.
Commercial Service (CS), including market research on the German market
for travel & tourism to the United States. Go to www.usatrade.gov
and click on “Contact Us” for the address of your nearest
USEAC. See also our web sites www.buyusa.de
for ITB information, www.usatrade.gov
for market research and http://tinet.ita.doc.gov
for tourism statistics. CS Germany and the Visit USA Committee Germany
are outreaching on your behalf, through www.vusa-germany.de,
inviting European tour operators to visit all 256 U.S. exhibitors in the
See America Pavilion, and offering to coordinate appointment requests
for them with you.
DURING ITB
Members of our Showcase Europe Travel & Tourism team will be on hand
with information and contacts in their markets, and our Visit USA Committee
Germany along with partners from many of Europe’s Visit USA Committees
will provide information on their activities. The U.S. Commercial Service
Business Information Office in booth 541 in the See America Pavilion has
information on our export promotion programs. By briefing us on your products
and services, we can better help you find business partners in Germany.
Visit the Visit USA Committee Germany in booth 539 where we can provide
you with information on promotional events throughout Europe such as travel
shows, travel agency training breakfast seminars, and marketing opportunities
such as the 50 Stars campaign (see www.50-sterne.de).
AFTER ITB
CS and VUSA staff can help you follow up with contacts made, to give greater
assurance that promising leads develop into business success. We can also
assist in developing new leads and in expanding into additional markets.
We look forward to seeing you at ITB, and to helping you meet your business
objectives. Your main contacts in Germany are:
