Italian Travel Market – USA is preferred long-haul destination for Italians!

As the fourth largest European travel market to the U.S., the Italian market is expected to maintain its performance through 2006. With more than 491,000 visitors in 2001, Italians are expected to surpass the 550,000 visitor mark by 2003, and surpass 668,000 by 2006. The forecasted 36 percent increase between 2001 and 2006 is one of the highest percent increases in Europe for the forecast period.

Make sure your destination/business is capturing the significant Italian market - Be a part of the U.S. Pavilion at BIT 2003, Italy's most important tourism trade show.

For the sixth consecutive year, the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Consulate in Milan is organizing a U.S. Pavilion at BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo / International Tourism Exchange), which will take place in Milan between February 15-18, 2003. BIT is the most important tourism trade show in Italy and one of the most important tourism shows in Europe.

Participation in the U.S. Pavilion at BIT is your opportunity to increase your visibility and the flow of Italian tourists to your destination. Last year, over 86,300 trade representatives, 5,700 travel journalists and 46,300 general visitors attended BIT. The U.S. pavilion had 35 exhibitors, including major destinations and tourism service suppliers. In all, BIT 2000 featured over 1,500 booths representing over 4,200 companies worldwide.

For the second year, the U.S. Pavilion at BIT will be featured as the highlight of the event. A prime location and exciting promotional events will make the U.S. Pavilion the center of attention for the whole show! In addition to the usual benefits of the low-cost high-value participation package, U.S. Pavilion exhibitors will receive FREE mailing lists containing the contact information of key tour operators, travel agents, incentive houses and journalists within the Italian travel industry. The theme of this year’s Pavilion will be COUNTRY FAIRS and FESTIVALS. A wide display of arts and crafts, exhibits and parades, stage and live entertainment, heritage and culture, musicians and magicians and much more will be featured at the U.S. Pavilion at BIT 2003.
