Italian Travel Market to Exceed 800,000!

Make sure your destination/business is capturing this significant market - Be a part of the U.S. Pavilion at BIT 2001, Italy's most important tourism trade show.

As the sixth largest overseas market to the U.S., the Italian market is expected to maintain its high performance. With nearly 625,000 visitors in 1999, Italians are expected to surpass the 800,000 visitation mark by 2003.

For the fourth consecutive year, the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Consulate in Milan is organizing a U.S. Pavilion at BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo / International Tourism Exchange), which will take place in Milan between February 14-18, 2001. BIT is considered the most important tourism trade show in Italy and one of the most important tourism shows in Europe.

Participation in the U.S. Pavilion at BIT is your opportunity to increase your visibility and the flow of Italian tourists to your destination. Last year, over 50,000 trade representatives, 2,600 travel journalists and 55,000 general visitors attended BIT. The U.S. pavilion had 36 exhibitors, including major destinations and tourism service suppliers. In all, BIT 2000 featured 780 booths representing over 5,000 companies worldwide.

For those who participate in the U.S. Pavilion, the Commercial Service will arrange meetings with Italian tour operators and travel agencies. They will also handle all logistics and set-up operations at BIT 2001.
