Richland College found participation in EDUTEXAS “The Lone Star Education Fair” to be most beneficial. The United States Department of Commerce, the United States Consulate in Monterrey, and the Office of the Secretary of Education for the State of Nuevo Leon did an excellent job of coordinating this recruitment effort. Serious and high-quality students truly interested in education in Texas visited the booths of the participating colleges and universities.

The registration and flow of visiting students was handled perfectly with adequate staff to help answer questions and to guide the students. The Fair was handled in the most professional of manners. Recruitment was made easy with the number of qualified and dedicated students seeking additional education in Texas. Richland College has participated in previous “Lone Start Education Fairs” with much success.

The most recent fair in Monterrey in March proved to be equally productive. Two students have already started at Richland College for the Summer term and others are currently working on completing paperwork required for the I-20 for a Fall start. EDUTEXAS “The Lone Star Education Fair” serves as a model for excellence in recruitment efforts.
