Major Corridor Coalitions

Atlanta Regional Commission

Regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for 10 Georgia counties and the city of Atlanta. Focuses on economic development.

CANAMEX

Focuses on developing and implementing the CANAMEX Corridor Plan, which includes a four-lane roadway from Mexico through the U.S. CANAMEX states, into Canada. Arizona is the lead state; other members are Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada; Alberta, Canada, and Sonora, Mexico.

Continental One Trade Corridor

Generally follows US 219 from Buffalo down through Pennsylvania into Western Maryland and West Virginia and south. Focuses on economic development and trade.

Golden State Gateway Coalition

Based in Santa Clarita, California, the Golden State Gateway Coalition focuses on improving freight and passenger mobility and safety on I-5 in northern Los Angeles County.

I-10

Links California to Florida. Focuses particularly on truck operational and capacity improvements, including truck only strategies.

I-69 Mid-Continent Coalition

Links the lower Midwest with Canada. Plans the development of new highway facility for NAFTA trade.

I-95

An alliance of transportation organizations, toll authorities, and law enforcement agencies, and others from Maine to Florida. Coordinates transportation improvements focused on ITS in this congested corridor.

International Mobility Trade Corridor

Coalition of U.S. and Canadian businesses and government entities whose aim is to alleviate northern border-crossing congestion in the Pacific Northwest.

Latin American Trade Transportation Study

FHWA funded study managed by the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Other members include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and the FHWA. Works to improve international trade, particularly Latin American trade, in the Southeast region.

Midwest Rail Initiative

Focuses on regional high-speed passenger rail system in nine Midwest states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

U.S.-Mexico Joint Working Committee

Coordinates bi-national border crossing investments on southern border; also recently formed similar group on Northern Border

West Coast Corridor Coalition

Earlier referred to as I-5 coalition. Member states are Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California. Focuses on enhancing the transportation system to facilitate goods movement.
