A 1-digit code that identifies the type of industry estimate:

  • 0 Rate of illness cases per 10,000 full-time workers.
  • 1 Rate of injury cases per 100 full-time workers.
  • 3 Rate of injury and illness cases per 100 full-time workers.
  • 4 Number of illness cases.
  • 5 Number of injury cases.
  • 6 Number of injury and illness cases.

Case Type

A 1-digit code that identifies the specific summary estimate case type. Major case types are defined by the OSH recordkeeping guidelines and include total recordable cases:

  • 1 Total recordable cases.
  • 2 Cases involving days away from work, job restriction, o .
  • 3 Cases involving days away from work.
  • 4 Cases involving days of job transfer or restriction.
  • 8 Other recordable cases.
  • T Total recordable cases of poisioning.
  • U Total recordable cases of skin disease.
  • W Total recordable cases of respiratory illnesses.
  • Z Total recordable cases of all other illnesses.

Division

A 2-digit code that identifies the major industry divisions as described in the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).

Industry

Indicates the industry for which the data were reported. The data are based on the classification of industrial activity as defined by the 2002 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
