Seasonally Adjusted

Indicates the adjustment of time series data to eliminate the effect of intrayear variations that tend to occur during the same period on an annual basis. Only monthly data for Census regions, Census divisions, States, New York City, the Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, IL metropolitan division, Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor, OH metropolitan area, Detroit-Warren-Livonia, MI metropolitan area, Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale CA metropolitan division, Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall, FL metropolitan division, New Orleans-Metairie-Kenner, LA metropolitan area, and the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA metropolitan division are available on a seasonally adjusted basis. Data for approximately 7,200 areas are available on a not seasonally adjusted basis. Generally speaking, if you are interested in substate area data or annual averages, you must choose "not seasonally adjusted."
