The San Francisco, California Regional Office of the Department of Labor's Office of Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Region IX of OASAM, has entered into a reciprocal agreement with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service's Office of the Regional Counsel located in San
Francisco. The purpose of this reciprocal agreement is to provide each with an alternative off-site location to store computer data. This back-up storage capacity will mitigate damage if an earthquake ever occurs in the San Francisco area. This agreement is based upon the fact that the respective
offices of the participants are located at opposite ends of the downtown San Francisco district and the ground structure of the two areas is substantially different.
