Fish and Fish Products

Trade and Tariffs

This sector is defined by the Fish Uruguay Round sector agreement. Fish and fish products accounted for .04 percent of total U.S. exports to Australia in 2003, totaling $4.6 million. The top U.S. exports in this sector are salmon, lobster and other sea crawfish and sardines. Australia’s tariffs range between zero and five percent with an average of 0.04 percent in 2003.

Australian exports to the United States totaled $15 million in 2003, or 0.26 percent of total exports to the United States. Australia’s top exports in this sector are lobster and other sea crawfish, frozen fish fillets and molluscs. The United States tariffs on fish and fish products range between 0 to 35 percent, with an average of 2.0 percent.

Tariff Elimination

Both Australia and the United States will eliminate all tariffs on fish and fish products immediately upon implementation of the agreement.

Tariff Elimination

Australia will eliminate all tariffs on civil aircraft equipment immediately upon implementation of the agreement.
