Transportation Equipment

Trade and Tariffs

The transportation sector covers motor vehicles and parts, including tires. In 2002, transportation equipment accounted for 21.8 percent of total U.S. non-textile industrial exports to Bahrain, averaging $33.8 million. Top U.S. exports in this sector are large passenger vehicles and trucks. Bahrain’s tariff on transportation products is 5.0 percent.

Bahraini exports to the United States in this sector are negligible, averaging less than $40 thousand. U.S. tariffs applied to the transportation sector range from 0 to 25 percent, with an average of 2.4 percent.

Tariff Elimination

Both sides will eliminate duties on imports of transportation equipment from the other Party immediately upon implementation of the agreement.
