Northeast-Midwest Institute Receives Maritime Administration Contract for Ballast Water Sampling Protocols
The Northeast-Midwest Institute’s Great Ships Initiative has been awarded a $350,000 contract from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration to develop appropriate protocols for ballast water discharge sampling. Ballast water has been a major factor in the spread of invasive species.
