Subject content: Presents statistical summaries of data from the Residential Finance survey conducted in 1991 as part of the 1990 Census of Housing program. Detailed tables are presented in eight chapters on selected summary characteristics for all properties, one-unit homeowner properties, two-to-four- unit homeowner properties, rental and vacant one-to-four-unit properties, rental and vacant 5-to-49-unit properties, rental and vacant 50-or-more-unit properties, condominium properties, and mobile home properties.
For each of the above, the report furnishes data on the housing and owner characteristics. The report includes data on manner of acquisition, source of down payment, year property acquired, building and land acquisition, property new or previously occupied, year structure built, purchase price, value, value-income ratio, and property benefits (such as government grant or subsidy). Tables show also points paid as interest and real estate tax.
Data are provided on mortgage status, type of first mortgage, mortgage insurance status, holder of first mortgage, amount of first mortgage loan, value, total outstanding debt as percent of value, income, total mortgage debt by mortgage insurance status, junior mortgage characteristics, and properties with home equity line of credit only. For rental and vacant properties, data include value per housing unit and monthly rental receipts per housing unit.
In addition, the report covers owner characteristics including income, owner status, age of owner, race, sex, Spanish/Hispanic origin, veteran status, and whether a first-time homeowner.
