Bishop Henry Whipple Federal BuildingOne Federal Drive The Bishop Henry Whipple (BHW) Federal Building is located south of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. It is bordered by highways 55, 5, 62 (Crosstown Expressway), and the Minneapolis /St. Paul International Airport. Officially dedicated in 1969, its tenants include Veterans Affairs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, various agencies with the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. Whipple Federal Building amenities include a cafeteria, small convenience store, vending machines, post office, state-of-the-art child care center, and an ATM. All visitors to the Whipple Federal Building must submit to security screening and present a valid government ID – state driver’s license or Federal ID – before they will be allowed to enter the building.
