Welcome to the professional M.B.A. program at La Salle University! At La Salle, we are focused on assisting you in attaining your personal and professional goals. Why consider La Salle?
All of our programs are internationally recognized for having earned accreditation from AASCB International (the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business). We emphasize academic excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement.
In the Lasallian tradition, our program blends academic theory
with the practical experiences of our diverse, highly motivated
students and outstanding faculty. Classes are small so that you
can get to know your classmates and professors well and learn in
a dynamic atmosphere. Each student takes 45 credits in the
weekend format. The program is completed in 12 months.
This M.B.A. program is offered at the Basel
Chamber of Commerce. The program starts in September and
concludes in August. Students do not need to travel to the United
States to complete the program.
The program is limited to 20 to 25 students
Admission Requirements
The Admission Committee of the M.B.A. Program is concerned with each applicant's interest, aptitude, and potential for achievement in graduate business studies. The structure of the program lends itself to those students with or without an undergraduate degree in business administration.
Application Deadlines
Although there are no formal application deadlines, we recommend that all documents be submitted to us by May 1. The class size is limited and once the seats are filled, all applications will be deferred until the following year.
Selection Criteria
Because each applicant's background and profile is unique, the
Admission Committee does not establish specific quantitative
minimum requirements for admission; however, it does adhere to
the accreditation standards established by the Association for
the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business.
La Salle University does not discriminate against any applicant

The Admission Requirements
- Higher Education Degree – University Degree or Swiss/German/Austrian Federal Diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience Requirements – Minimum of five years of work experience with some managerial responsibilities
- English Proficiency- The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) may be required in certain cases where English language proficiency cannot be assessed
- Interview (in person)
Waiver of GMAT Requirement
Applicants with significant work experience or possessing an advanced degree in higher education are waived from the GMAT requirement for admission.
Curriculum
The structure of La Salle's M.B.A. Program is comprised of five sections: Foundation, Core, Electives, Executive Perspectives, and the Integrative Capstone. Students must complete 45 credits to complete the M.B.A. degree at La Salle University.
Foundation
The purpose of the Foundation area of this program is to provide students with a functional knowledge of business theory in the context of decision making and leadership skills. The following five course (three credits each) are required but may be waived based on a student's academic and professional background.

The Core
The following three courses (three credits each) provide students with practical applications for business leaders in the areas of marketing, accounting, and financial management. Applying our analytical, problem-solving approach to business education, the courses in this area ensure comprehensiveness in the program of studies, expose the student to these areas at a more sophisticated level than most traditional M.B.A. programs, and supply a conceptual framework for the analysis of management decision making.

Electives
Students are required to complete two 700-level courses. The courses are offered based on the student preferences of the cohort group.
Executive Perspectives
The following three courses (three credits each) provide students with a greater understanding of what it means to lead ideas and people in an organization. Topics include assessing and developing one's leadership skills, learning how to use technology for managing the vast array of information sources available, and in making appropriate decisions, understand how the financial outlook of an organization might be effected by such decisions.

Integrative Capstone
The following two-course sequence (three credits each) is taken in the last two semesters of the student's program. These two courses are completed as a cohort group and provide the opportunity to integrate what has been learned in the core, specialization, and executive perspective areas while adding other content in business strategy, global perspectives, and ethical/legal dimensions necessary to succeed in the global business arena.

Tuition for the program (October 2008 Class): $38,500
NOTE: If the first deposit is received by July 5, 2008 there will
be 10% reduction in tuition.

FAQ
Is La Salle’s M.B.A. Program a part-time or full-time
program?
The program is a weekend program. The classes meet two weekends
on a month on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is the M.B.A. Program accredited?
La Salle’s Master of Business Administration is accredited by
AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business). Only 30 percent of business programs
worldwide are accredited by AACSB.

How long will it take to complete the M.B.A.
program?

How long is each class?
Each class meets for two weekends (Saturday and Sunday). The
sessions starts at 08:30 and conclude at 18:00. The classes are
held at the Basel Chamber of Commerce Conference Room at
Aeschenvorstadt 67 in Basel.
