E-Government

 Image - Commerce is E-Gov
The Department of Commerce has long recognized the advantages afforded by making our processes electronic and the importance of ensuring that our scientific, technical and statistical information is readily available to the public.  The Commerce Office of the Chief Information Officer promotes the principles of E-Government through its capital planning and investment process; the review of all information collections from the public to identify opportunities to make the processes electronic; participation in the E-Government initiatives and lines of business that promote the President's E-Government Management Agenda; and annual reports to the Office of Management and Budget on progress in implementing the E-Government Act.
