The Department of Transportation
transmitted the Comprehensive Truck Size and Weight Study to Congress on
August 31, 2000. The Study was initiated in 1994 by Secretary of Transportation
Rodney E. Slater, who was then the Federal Highway Administrator.
The Study is intended to provide decisionmakers with fact-based information
regarding highly controversial and multifaceted truck size and
weight issues. |
