Master Index File

(Contains 2008 - 3rd Quarter)

The Master Index file contains all mine identification numbers issued for mines active or opened since 1971. In the past we have provided you three files which you needed to copy, rename, and join to create one self-extracting file. As this was both confusing, and a big waste of time, we are going to provide you with one file that is self-extracting. The master file is name MIF.exe. Just copy this to the directory of your choice and then use a file manager and double click on the file name or go to the DOS prompt and type MIF. This will expand this file and provide you all the data you received before. The new master index file (MIF.exe) will expand to approximately 15+ megabytes. Nothing else has changed.

If, for some reason, you need the three individual files we have provided those for you as well. If you use this approach you will need to download all three files into one directory and then copy the three files into one file. Use the "File Save" option in your browser for downloading the files. The command for coping all three files into one file is:
copy mif20083.1/b+mif20083.2+mif20083.3 mif.exe
At this point you have now created a self-extracting file named mif.exe. This is the same file we are providing you under "Master File Complete". If you have any other questions regarding this process please contact me via e-mail and I will provide you with assistance.
