Summary:On October 5, 2000, at a hearing of the Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Emergency Management, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, U.S. House of Representatives, we provided testimony on the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) efforts to address concerns about the safety of non-structural aircraft systems, such as wire. Our testimony focused on three issues-safety of non-structural aircraft systems and required actions, FAA's aircraft safety research efforts to address non-structural aircraft issues, and reporting of wiring problems.
