Roundtable at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy: Invitation

Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs
October 29, 2004

The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy and the European-American Business Council invites you to participate in an informal roundtable on the transatlantic economic partnership. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Tony Wayne will lead the discussion at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy in Minneapolis on October 29th, 2004, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Please see below for the Institute's Minneapolis address and telephone information.

The October 29th roundtable discussion is part of a series of listening sessions being held by U.S. government officials to reach out to business, consumer, labor, environmental, and academic communities. In June 2004, U.S. and EU leaders challenged stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic to engage in a discussion of concrete ideas on how to further transatlantic economic integration, spur innovation and job creation, and better realize the competitive potential of our economies and enterprises. We invite you to provide perspective on the opportunities and challenges in the transatlantic marketplace. U.S. government agencies will synthesize comments into their recommendations to U.S. leaders prior to the 2005 U.S.–EU Summit.

Please RSVP to Carol Thompson, thompsonce@state.gov; (202) 647-0286.

Roundtable Location:
