Image of computer linking to the Do Not E-mail Registry site.THERE IS NO NATIONAL DO NOT E-MAIL REGISTRY

Have you submitted your e-mail address to a "National Do Not E-mail Registry" that promises to reduce the amount of spam (unsolicited e-mail) you receive? If so, you are the victim of a scam, according to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The website at "unsub.us" tries to imitate the website of the National Do Not Call Registry, a legitimate federal government website that allows you to remove your phone number from telemarketers’ phone lists. The unsub.us site is NOT run or authorized by the FTC.

The FTC is advising consumers not to submit their e-mail addresses or any other personal information to any site claiming to be a "National Do Not E-mail Registry."

Should you get an e-mail claiming to represent a "Do Not E-mail Registry," an organization to stop spam, or even the FTC itself, report it to the FTC at www.ftc.gov or 1-877-FTC-HELP.
