Substance Abuse Summit 2004

"Keeping America's Mines Drug- and Alcohol-Free"


The Mine Safety and Health Administration and the states of Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia held a free one-day substance abuse summit for individuals involved with coal mining operations and activities in the Southern Appalachian region. This kick-off meeting brought together a coalition of government, mining industry, labor, miners, and public health experts to share information, expertise and experiences in dealing with substance abuse in mines and the community.
