Title:Egyptian Flight School Owner in NY Pleads Guilty to Defrauding FAA

Summary:Ahmed Abdulla Elashmouny, owner and president of S&A Aviation, Inc, doing business as Delta Aviation Flight Academy in Farmingdale, NY, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Central Islip, NY, to multiple fraud charges. Elashmouny, an Egyptian citizen, pleaded guilty to charges of misrepresenting himself as a U.S. citizen and as a certified instrument flight instructor on forms submitted to FAA. He also pleaded guilty to filing an insurance claim on a plane that had crashed before it was insured, to fraudulently using the credit card account number of another customer to obtain aviation fuel, and to using false credit card authorization codes to obtain aircraft equipment and computer products. Elashmouny remains in custody pending sentencing in October. OIG and the FBI investigated the case with assistance from FAA.
