Title:Aircraft Mechanic Gets Jail for Falsifying FAA Documents

Summary:Michael Sandic was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Phoenix, AZ, to two years in jail, permanent restriction from employment in the airline and aircraft maintenance industries, and repayment of $4,646 for stolen checks after pleading guilty to charges that he falsified his aircraft mechanic certificate. Sandic was charged on February 24 with presenting a falsified aircraft mechanic certificate to four separate companies in Arizona and on August 9 for falsely stating that he had an airframe and power plant mechanic rating when he applied for employment at British Aerospace Systems in Lancaster, CA, and at Lockheed Martin in Springfield, MA.
