Title:Florida Man Jailed for Bogus “Go-Box” Traffic Signal Device
Date:July 26, 2001
Type:Investigation
Summary:Johnnie C. Greene was ordered jailed for 13 months by a U.S. District Court judge in Miami on charges of defrauding the public by selling a “go-box” device that purportedly changed red traffic signals to green. Greene’s company, CFG, Inc., advertised the device over the Internet, but failed to fulfill customers’ orders. A search of Greene’s residence during the investigation turned up a “Go-Box,” but tests found it did not affect traffic signals as advertised. OIG investigated this case with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Miami-Dade Police Department and the Postal Inspection Service.
