Summary: | On January 10, 2007, Johnson Controls, Inc., (JCI) agreed in U.S. District Court in Gary, Indiana to pay the FTA $2.4 million to settle a civil claim of making false statements involving federal transit funds. JCI conspired with the Gary Public Transit Corporation (GPTC) to submit false statements in order to obtain a $1.2 million energy-savings contract at GPTC's maintenance facility. The company cooperated with the investigation and agreed to take remedial measures. |
