Title:Former NY Construction Contractor Pleads Guilty and Agrees to Pay $300,000

Summary:Srinivas Thimmappa, the former project manager of Trataros Construction Inc. (TC), Brooklyn, NY, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn to charges of making false statements and agreed to pay $300,000 in restitution. Thimmappa created shell companies in a scheme to defraud TC and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The investigation found that Thimmappa claimed to be performing part-time engineering work for Logix Constructions Services; however, LOGIX did not perform any work on the project but submitted bills to TC. No sentencing date has been set. This case was investigated by OIG, the FBI and the General Services Administration OIG.
