Summary:	The audit objectives include determining whether: (1) principal DOT Financial Statements conform with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; (2) DOT has adequate internal controls over financial reporting; (3) DOT has complied with all applicable laws and regulations; (4) internal controls ensured the existence and completeness of reported data supporting performance measures; and (6) supplementary and stewardship information is consistent with management representations and the DOT Financial Statements. As part of this audit, we also will work proactively with FAA to ensure that its action plans will effectively resolve the property accountability issues that caused a qualified opinion on the FY 2000 Financial Statements.
