Summary:	John Allen Harris, Jr., of Norfolk, VA, an employee of the Maritime Administration pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Jacksonville, FL, to providing confidential information about a pending ship repair contract to a local contractor, thereby giving the firm a bidding edge. Sentencing is scheduled for July 19, 2002. OIG investigated this case jointly with the Defense Criminal Investigative Service.
