| Summary: | Aircraft fueler Koffi Justin N'Gorran of Ivory Coast and food service worker Clemente Ortiz-Alvarez of Mexico pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court, Seattle, WA, to a misdemeanor charge of failing to register with immigration authorities. Both men had been given a "blue badge," which is the highest security clearance at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport and allows access to the commercial jets. They obtained the security clearances after passing criminal history checks, but according to records held by INS, were in the country illegally. The men, who were arrested on February 5, were sentenced to time served, ordered to pay a special assessment of $10, and deported to their native countries. This case was investigated jointly with INS. |
