Title:Texas Man Prohibited from Working in Aircraft Maintenance

Summary:Darrell Michael Ranson was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Fort Worth, TX to 2 years of probation and a $500 fine for forging the signature of an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR). Ranson indicated a hydraulic fuse was new and manufactured in accordance with FAA approval data. The fuse helps regulate hydraulic pressure on aircraft. Failure could result in loss of control of the aircraft. The judge also prohibited Ranson from working in aircraft maintenance for 2 years. Ranson pleaded guilty January 8 to making false statements to the FAA. OIG investigated this case.
