| Summary: | On June 27, a U.S. District Court judge in Los Angeles, CA sentenced Aaron Matthew Davis of Los Angeles to five years probation and 500 hours of community service for illegally transporting 4,350 pounds of explosive fireworks without
7 required HazMat placarding. Davis pled guilty to the felony charge on February 4, 2005. Transportation of dangerous explosives on the nation’s highways without proper warning signs poses a serious risk to public safety as well as to emergency personnel who would be responding in the event of an accident. Davis had used a commercial rental truck to transport the fireworks from a Nevada trucking terminal into California in April 2004. The investigation was conducted jointly with the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department. |
