required HazMat placarding. Davis pled guilty to the felony charge on February 4, 2005. Transportation of dangerous explosives on the nation’s highways without proper warning signs poses a serious risk to public safety as well as to emergency personnel who would be responding in the event of an accident. Davis had used a commercial rental truck to transport the fireworks from a Nevada trucking terminal into California in April 2004. The investigation was conducted jointly with the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department.
