| Summary: | On May 23, Paul D. Beall, a former Air Traffic Control Specialist was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, PA to 90 days in prison and a $5,500 fine for making false statement to the FAA on five applications for his Airman Medical Certificate between 2000 and 2004. On March 2, 2005 Beall pled guilty to the charges, admitting to failure to disclose that he suffered from several ailments, including hypertension; that he had been prescribed regulated medications; and that he had pled guilty to prior charges of driving under the influence. In April 2004, Beall was reassigned to non-aircraft controller duties, and retired from the FAA on January 31, 2005. |
