Title:Massachusetts Asphalt Company Fined $168,000 for Falsifying Drivers’ Log Books

Summary:On April 15, All States Asphalt, Inc., (ASA) headquartered in Sunderland, MA, pled guilty to making false statements on truck drivers’ logs in order to conceal violations of FMCSA ‘hours of service’ regulations. The U.S. District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts, subsequently ordered the firm to pay $168,000 due, in part, to the risks this conduct poses to the traveling public. ASA has also agreed to participate in a compliance program.
