Title:Improper Heat Treatment of Aircraft Parts Charged in Indictment of Hydroform and Temperform

Summary:Hydroform USA, Inc., Carson, CA, a large manufacturer of aluminum alloy parts for military, aerospace, and commercial aircraft, along with its subsidiary Temperform USA, LLC, La Mirada, CA, and three managers were charged in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, CA, for conspiracy and making false statements regarding the heat treatment of aircraft parts. Parts are heat-treated to increase strength and corrosion resistance, and reduce susceptibility to cracking and fatigue. The indictment alleges false certifications of unapproved parts and quality testing, among the 34 charges. The investigation task force comprises DOT OIG, NASA OIG, Defense Criminal Investigative Service, and Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
