Title:Airport Security Sweep Update (Miami)

Summary:Dolores Manuel Medrano pleaded guilty on February 13 in U.S. District Court in Miami, FL, to making false statements on her application for an airport security badge by using a false Social Security number. She is the 9th guilty defendant among 17 former employees netted during a September 2002 security sweep at Miami International Airport. Medrano worked as a carpenter for a private corporation doing renovation work at the airport. A sentencing date has not been scheduled. This investigation was conducted by OIG, U.S. Customs Service, Social Security Administration, and INS.
