SUBJECT: Changes in the Cost to Publish in the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations
This is to inform you of changes in the page rates charged for publishing in the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The Federal Register page rate has not been changed since 1987 and the CFR page rate has not been changed since 1985. It is necessary to implement changes due to paper price increases, wage increases, and other costs. These cost increases have been partially offset by cost reductions due to downsizing and the implementation of new technologies. Discounts are based on reduced costs in the pre-press area resulting from the electronic input of data. Rates prior to January 1, 1997:
