Circular Letter No. 646

April 11, 2007

TO: Printing and Publishing Officials of the Federal Government

SUBJECT: Rider Orders for the Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States

The Office of the Federal Register has announced the opportunity to submit rider orders for the Public Papers of the Presidents for George W. Bush, covering the periods from July 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004, published in two books (Book II and Book III). Book II will include material from July 1, 2004, through September 30, 2004. Book III will include material from October 1, 2004, through December 31, 2004.

In accordance with 1 CFR 12.5 (a) (3), the head of each executive agency receives one official copy (without charge) of each annual volume.

In addition, under 1 CFR 12.5(b), your agency may obtain extra copies for official use at actual cost. In order for your agency to obtain these additional copies, it is necessary that your Printing and Binding Requisition (Standard Form No. 1), covering the number of copies needed for all the activities in your organization, reach the Agency Publishing Services, Requisition Section, Stop CSA, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20401 by May 4, 2007. For Book III, include OFR requisition number No. 5-00009-NF and GPO jacket number 212-007 on your requisition.

Because the page counts for these publications are not known, the rider rates have not yet been determined. However, your requisition prior to production allows the printing of these copies during the regular press runs. This results in substantial savings, which we are then able to pass along to you. (Please note that rider rates apply to single destination, local delivery orders only. Mailing costs, if incurred, will comprise an additional charge.) Field or regional activities should coordinate their requirements with their Washington, DC, area headquarters' printing officers before submitting any paperwork.

If you have any questions about the information contained in this Circular Letter, please contact your GPO Agency Publishing Specialist or call Agency Publishing Services on 202-512-0320 or 202-512-0238.

Sincerely,

JIM BRADLEY
