Siberian SABIT Alumni Establish Association to Support Technology Commercialization

Two participants from the SABIT Association Development program in 2001 established the association “SibAkademInnovatsiya” upon their return to Russia. The association is comprised of companies working in the development, production, and introduction of new products in a variety of technical and scientific fields. Its main goals are to support new businesses involved in the commercialization process, and to widen the international scientific community’s knowledge of member companies and their activities.

Indiana Timber Equipment Company Continues Successful Relationships with SABIT Alumni

Koetter Dry Kiln, of Borden, Indiana, reported the sale of a $28,000 drying chamber to SABIT alumna Valentina Pikina, of RM Trading in Vladivostok, Russia. This follows an initial sale of timber processing equipment roughly two years ago to the same company. Koetter representatives also confirm other contract negotiations taking place with a former SABIT participant in Tomsk, Russia.

Tennessee Firm Establishes Representation in Russian RFE with SABIT Interns

Vaughn and Melton, a Tennessee company specializing in engineering and architectural services, has established representation with SABIT alumni Olga and Aleksei Blokhin of the firm “Sotrudnik” in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka. “Sotrudnik” will contribute marketing, engineering support, and client relations services under the terms of the agreement, covering Vaughn and Melton’s activities in the Russian Far East.
