Provide the intern with hands-on, non-academic, executive training designed to maximize their exposure to business and management skills or commercially-oriented scientific operations necessary to operate in a market economy.

Designate an internship coordinator to help the intern adjust to the United States. The coordinator ensures that suitable housing, which may consist of a home-stay, is located prior to arrival.

Provide the intern with visa support, medical insurance, housing, and other living and travel expenses. The host organization must initially pay for the round-trip international airfare, daily stipend, and housing costs. These costs will be reimbursed in full to the host by the U.S. Department of Commerce at the end of the training.

Successful applications will provide a specific, results-oriented training objectives statement, which should be supported by a detailed, week-by-week work plan description.
