This is an introductory segment for the program “Children and Asthma” containing excerpts and credits from the film. It includes the statistic that each year, asthma kills more than 600 American children, and since 1980 the incidence of the disease has doubled and now affects over 5 million children in the U.S. Low-income children living in urban areas are at highest risk, but the disease cuts across socioeconomic and geographic boundaries.
