The American Management and Business Internship Training Program (AMBIT) was established in 1995 for the purpose of furthering the peace process and fostering economic development in Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland. AMBIT was coordinated by the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration (ITA) in collaboration with the International Fund for Ireland. Its last program was completed in March, 2006.

The Middle East Executive Training in the United States Program (MEET U.S.) is a training initiative created under the auspices of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). The MEPI, announced by Secretary of State Colin Powell on December 12, 2002, gives sustained and energetic attention to economic, political and educational reform. The MEET U.S. program exposes regional business executives to U.S. products and business practices, creating a cadre of influential executives who are predisposed to doing business with the United States. The program also facilitates trade between Middle Eastern companies and U.S. small and medium-sized businesses that otherwise may not have the resources to directly enter these markets. MEET U.S. operates in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Gaza, the West Bank and Arab citizens of Israel (Arab-Israeli). SABIT was instrumental in the founding of MEET U.S. in 2003.

President George Bush launched the Inter American E-business Fellowship Program at the Summit of the Americas in Quebec in 2001. Under the program, U.S. companies hosted fellows for a four week period, providing them with hands-on training in the use of information technologies to improve efficiency and productivity, and to increase their customer base, emphasizing supply chain management and the integration of information technologies in “back office” operations. The program benefited both the fellow and host company in the sharing of best practices and cultures between companies and countries. Currently there are no programs planned for 2007.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Good Governance Program, in cooperation with foreign governments and the American and domestic private sectors, develops joint projects and programs to enhance the rule of law and business environments in the regions of Eastern Europe, Russia and the Independent States. It also has programs in Latin and Central America. Visit the website to learn more.
