Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Your GSA Contract
Subject: Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Your GSA Contract

Section 104 of the Energy Policy Act (EPACT) of 2005 established requirements for Federal agencies regarding ENERGY STAR qualified products and the Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) for energy-efficient products.  Federal buyers will be required to purchase only product categories covered by the ENERGY STAR and FEMP programs, unless an exception is obtained.

It is important for your company to properly identify all ENERGY STAR products and products that meet FEMP purchasing specifications for energy efficient products.  Your contract also includes the requirement to identify these products in your printed and electronic catalogs.
