The Special American Business
Internship Training (SABIT) Program
will invite 18 mid- to senior-level
executives from the Eurasian
hydrocarbon sector to learn about
new advances in offshore exploration
and production. These delegates,
screened and selected by the
U.S. Department of Commerce,
represent the upper echelon of
engineers and geologists from
Eurasia, where the offshore industry
is currently undergoing a period
of extraordinary growth. This
program will introduce participants
to the status and trends of the
U.S. exploration and production
industry and current themes in
geological surveys, offshore
construction, and enhanced recovery
techniques. The delegates will
attend the Offshore Technology
Conference (OTC) in Houston on
May 2 and 3.
The program’s primary objective is to provide Eurasian participants with
a comprehensive understanding of new technologies and services available in the
offshore exploration and production sector from companies based in the United
States. This objective will be carried out through training seminars and site
visits to U.S. oil and gas companies, engineering and design firms, equipment
manufacturers, and regulatory agencies. After completion of the program, these
high-level managers and engineers will be able to implement change and make improvements
in their organizations in addition to being prepared to work successfully with
U.S. partners.
Timed to coincide with OTC 2005, SABIT offers a unique opportunity for U.S. companies
to provide industry insight and training while showcasing their products and
services to their Eurasian counterparts. By hosting this SABIT group, U.S. companies
will build relationships with leaders in the exploration and production sector
in Eurasia. Through these valuable contacts host companies can explore commercial
opportunities and partnerships in the region. For

The program will begin April 16th in Washington, D.C. with an orientation and
visits to relevant government agencies and associations in the National Capital
Area. During the remaining three weeks the group will travel to Houston and New
Orleans for detailed discussions, training sessions, and site visits with engineering
firms, service providers and major oil exploration and production companies.
Overall themes will be based on project management and finance, new technologies
and equipment, regulations, safety and security, all related to offshore exploration
and production. The program ends in Washington on May 14th.
SABIT is currently looking
for U.S. hosts to provide training
for a few hours or for an entire
day at their facilities. Training

companies:
