The SABIT Energy Efficiency
in Construction program for the
Russia Far East will train 18
mid- to senior-level executives
from the construction industry.
These delegates, screened and selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce,
represent the upper echelon of construction specialists from the Far East Region
of Russia, whose industry is undergoing a period of transition. This program
will introduce participants to current trends and technologies in energy efficiency
that are being utilized and implemented in the U.S. construction industry.
The Energy Efficiency in Construction
program aims to accomplish a
number of objectives. Participants
will gain a comprehensive understanding
of developments and innovations
in energy efficient construction
in the United States, including
materials, design, and equipment.
This will be done primarily through
meetings with leading U.S. construction
firms, suppliers, equipment manufacturers,
and local, state and federal
government representatives working
in the sector. After completion
of the program, these high-level
managers will be able to implement
improvements within their own
organizations and be better prepared
to work successfully with U.S.
partners.
This is a unique opportunity for U.S. companies to provide industry insight and
training while showcasing their products and services to their Eurasian counterparts.
By hosting this SABIT group, U.S. companies focusing on energy efficiency in
construction will have the opportunity to establish contacts with potential partners
in the Russian Far East, a market that is currently expanding and starting to
see significant investment. As a result of this program, participating U.S. host
companies will have an improved opportunity to explore commercial opportunities
and partnerships in this region.

the first week, the delegation
will receive cross-cultural negotiations
training, meet with relevant
government officials from the
Department of Commerce, and meet
with other government agencies,
associations, and local companies
for a general overview of the
industry. For the remaining three
weeks of the program, the group
will travel to select cities
across the United States for
meetings and site visits with
host organizations and companies.
SABIT is looking for U.S. hosts
to provide training for a few
hours or an entire day at their
facilities. Training will cover

by the delegates, and represent
some of the current challenges
they face within their companies:
Materials
Sub-structure
construction (lighting, electric,
plumbing)
Energy
sources
Developing
technologies
Financing
Industry
standards
This
list is by no means exhaustive.
Be sure to download
the detailed list of topics that
